Although the exact origin of coffee as we know it today is not entirely known, few coffee-drinkers in the U.S. will argue that they are passionate about this drink. Most of the coffee drinkers in the United States are between the ages of 40 and 60. Despite its popularity, there are a number of surprising health benefits that coffee has. Most healthy is drinking organically produced coffee.

1. Increased Blood Circulation

Just 5 ounces of black coffee can increase the blood flow in your capillaries by 30%. This helps to make sure that all of your body’s tissues are oxygenated which will help you perform physical activities much more easily.

2.Reduce Stress

You don’t even have to drink coffee to reap some benefits from it. A study done in Seoul have found that the scent of coffee causes the brain to release proteins which can reduce stress.

3.Antioxidants and Nutrients

Even before adding cream and sugar, coffee is packed with antioxidants and nutrients that will help you stay healthy. It has 11% of your daily needs of riboflavin, 3% of your potassium, and 2% each of your magnesium and niacin.

4.Reduced Risk of Cancer

There have been several studies done on the effect of coffee on various types of cancer, and they have all shown that coffee can lower the risk of certain types of cancer by up to 40% by drinking 5 cups a day. Coffee combats upper aero-digestive tract cancers, colorectal cancers, and liver cancers.

5.Improve Brain Function

One of the compounds found in coffee is EHT. It encourages your brain to produce dopamine and norepinephrine, neurotransmitters which help your brain function properly. This can lead to improved reaction times and overall cognitive function. Coffee is also an anti-inflammatory.

Get The Most Out Of Coffee

All of the studies were done on caffeinated coffee vs. decaf,  minus any sugar, artificial sweeteners and creamers. While coffee can help you become smarter and help reduce your cancer risk, drinking a lot of coffee can increase adrenal exhaustion, so it does take a bit of balance. Just be careful to not overdo it and this incredible benefits will be yours to reap!

So, who wants a healthy cup of coffee (minus the sugar and cream, of course)?
